WAVERLEY – the World’s last seagoing paddle steamer was built for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) and entered service in 1947. In 1974 she was gifted to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society for £1 and is now a world famous iconic tourist attraction offering trips throughout various areas of the UK. Owned by Waverley Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. of Glasgow, a registered charity, Waverley is powered by a Triple Expansion Steam Engine which is open to full passenger view.
